Q. Where are you located?

The New Grand Hotel is located in the downtown centre of Nelson. We are 1 block off Baker Street (the main street of Nelson).

Q. What is the difference between a Standard Room, a Family Room, an Economy Room and a Budget Room?

  • A Standard room offers a spacious roomw ith your choice of 1 queen bed, 2 queen beds, or 2 double beds and includes air conditioning, a large television, free local calling, full bath facilityes, room service, and our Healthy Breakfast to go along with complimentary coffee in the morning.
  • A Family room offers 2 rooms: a queen size bed in one room and a futon in the other room and includes air conditioning, a large television, free local calling, full bath facilityes, room service, and our Healthy Breakfast to go along with complimentary coffee in the morning.
  • An Economoy room offers a bit smaller of a room with a double bed and includes air conditioning, a large television, free local calling, full bath facilityes, room service, and our Healthy Breakfast to go along with complimentary coffee in the morning.
  • A Budget room offers either a double bed or 2 single beds with your choice of a full bath or half bath. Rooms include a small television and complimentary coffee in the morning.

Q. Do I get breakfast in the morning?

We are pleased to offer a Healthy Breakfast To Go with coffee to guests staying in the Standard, Economy, or Family rooms. This offer in not available with the Budget rooms.

Q. Are the rooms noisy?

The New Grand Hotel offers quiet, spacious rooms at an affordable rate. As we are located in the downtown centre, there can be noise at times. We do have some rooms, located above The Uptown Sportsbar, which can be a bit noisy at times.

Q. Do you have any smoking rooms?

All rooms are non-smoking. We do offer our guests a smoking patio on the 2nd floor.

Q. Do you allow pets?

The New Grand Hotel is pet-friendly. There is a charge for pets.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

The New Grand Hotel requires 24 hours notice of cancellation. Failure may result in charges applied to your credit card.

Q. Do you offer BCAA discounts?

We do not, but we do have discounts for BDB members.

Q. I saw on the website that you have a motorcyle hogwash, how much does it cost?

The Motorcycle Hogwash is free for our guests. We supply, the buckets, the hoses, the soap and the rags.

Q. What time is check out and check in?

Check in is at 3 pm and check out is at 11 am

Q. I do not have a credit card, can I still rent a room?

Most certainly. We do require a cash deposit for guests that do not have a credit card.

Q. Do you have parking?

We do have a private parking lot located at the back of the hotel. It is first come first serve.
